Welcome to the world of Rando!
Magic Mirror revolves around our amnesiac protagonist Alvin Coolidge, whom awakes from a head injury only to meet Beave, a liquored up, anthropomorphic beaver. Lucky for Alvin, Beave is more than happy to make a new friend. Unfortunately, Beave is on unofficial leave from his job at RotoRuner, a rune and sigil Fix-It outfit of all kinds, which could be considered illegal, due to violation of contract and stolen company equipment. All this and Alvin still hasn’t notice his strange, silvery skin. Ironically, mirrors are in short supply in “Magic Mirror”.
The path is long for this duo yet, where will it take them? Will our hero regain his woefully lost memory and some semblance of normalcy? Could Beave’s less than thoughtful actions reach an eventual negative outcome? What other seedy locales and comparably compromised characters will they come across during their journey through this world of possible impossibilities? The answers are inevitable and many.
Magic Mirror is the story. It is divided into chapters. The blog will update MWF, a new comic page will update every Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday morning is reserved for commentary and criticism of the overall comic community.

Roto Runer is the site. It is also the company Beave used to work for. Within the world of Rando, they are the largest privately owned chain of rune, sigil, and other magical symbol repair.

This little collection of magic and intrigue is happily brought to you by the team of comiker extraordinaire Mark Eric Elton and wordsmith supreme Patrick J. Thompson. It is always amazing what can germinate from such small seeds of imagination. We came together on this project with two simple kernels of an idea. A dream of a head injury and a talking beaver and after talking for hours over the course of a mere two days, the 36 episode epic that is “Magic Mirror” was birthed into this world.
Pat Thompson is the literate half of the Roto Runer duo. If words are like air then he is in a constant head-rush fugue from hyper-ventilating. Leaving his regular perch from within Idea Machine Productions, the film outfit through which he produces moving picture funnies, Pat pulls the vocabolaric marionette strings of the citizens of Rando. He is the Duke of Dialog Bubbles. The Baron of Blah Blah Blah. The Chairman of Chit-Chat.
Mark Eric Elton co-created Roto Runer and Magic Mirror with Pat Thompson. When he’s not drawing comics, Mark likes to crack open his head and let all the beauty of imaginary worlds fall unto whatever surface happens to be there.
