Yesterday’s page marks the end of Chapter Six of the Magic Mirror story. However, it also marks the end of a format.
When we began this project, we decided that we would follow the typical webcomic paradigm and update a couple pages every week. With models as fantastic as PVP and Penny-Arcade setting precedence, how could we resist.
So we followed suit.
Though there are many things that keep us apart from such great role-models (including talent), the main difference was what we created. Their comics are gag-a-day, similar to the newspaper strips of old. Ours, though we may try and inject humor whenever possible, rely more on story and (occasionally) action. Therefore, we have decided to boldly go where few (if any) have gone before.
From this day forward, beginning with Chapter Seven (and ending whenever the heck we feel it appropriate) we will present the pages in a format more akin to traditional comics publishing. Now, I know you all have questions regarding this format change, so I will do my best to answer them one by one.
What does this mean exactly?
Simply put, instead of getting one page every other day, you will be getting upwards of sixteen pages on the first Saturday of every month.
That’s practically double the pages you would have been receiving before!
What will fill the empty void in our lives now that you are only releasing stupendous comics once a month?
Oh, come on now…I’m sure you have other things you could spend your time doing…
Nevertheless, we are not in the business to disappoint. The Wordsmith Supreme himself has decided to step up to the plate and write some GREAT serialized stories similar to the Saturday morning Gino adventures. Every month, you will receive a FANTASTIC NEW story from the mind of Patrick Thompson himself, all broken up into easy to digest portions.
What about Gino?
Gino will continue until conclusion, there is no question about that. Yet his schedule may change. Our prognosticators have yet to get back to us regarding the implications of such a change, but the way we see it, you all are cool enough to endure any tumult the new schedule may create for our Zephiri hero.
Will we get any more Wild Wonders?
Why, yes!
As most of you know, each month contains, on average, FOUR Saturdays. With the first Saturday being taken up by a chunk of comics goodness, this means that THREE ADDITIONAL SATURDAYS are at our disposal. The plan, for the time being, is to fill those Saturdays with a more frequent smattering of Wild Wonder wisdom, straight from the pen of Valentine Ghostseer herself!
Do you have any other surprises for us?
Definitely, though since we do not want your brains to explode from amazement, we will keep most of them secret for the time being.
That said, there is one last thing:
While being the milestone for this momentous change in format, Chapter Seven also marks another milestone. Chapter Seven will also be the end of Act One of the Magic Mirror story. Many MANY more surprises await alongside Act Two, but you will just have to wait a few months to see exactly what we’re talking about.
Trust me, though. You’re going to want to stick with us. It will be worth it!
